Infamous Shimmy (archive)

i've changed new tyres a whike back and now it's starting to shimmy, especially when i go at 60mph or when i'm braking. i've had this problem with an e34, where replacing the arm bushings did the job.
is it the same situation for the e28? i can just see a bushing next to the tyres. should i replace anything else while i'm at it? for info, i acquired this car from my father, and about 4 years ago was in an front end accident which i believe contributred to this.
