I wanted any opinions on using a Bosch O2 sensor from a late 80's Ford Mustang V8 for my 86 535i. Mustang's is $37 and the cheapest BMW $90.
I'm replacing the cat on the weekend.
TIA
Alex
While you "might" gain a somewhat smoother idle, the car will run too rich and your fuel economy will not be as good as it could be.
I have the number for the 3-wire Bosch part at the shop. The only difference between it and the OEm BMW part is the connector.
It's an easy clip and reconnect job.
Email me if you want me to email the part number back to you.
