As you mentioned in your later post,these are ET11 16x7.5" wheels.I was asked before,and answered,that they are too far out for proper clearance on the rear of an e28. 205/45/16 tires are too small to be safe on your car.215/45/16's MAY be safe,if you use a very good high performance tire.
205/50/16,or better 205/55/16,where there are so many tire choices,would be better.Rolling the rear fenders will give you JUST proper clearance for most 205/55/16 tires,the size I used for years to run down M5's at driver's schools with 16x7.5'Hartge rims at ET13 on my "trick" '85 535i.
