In Reply to: ET 32, 7.5 16" BBS - RS, will 215/45/16 work? posted by Tim Atl. on February 04, 2001 at 12:12:36:

Is anyone running 215/45/16's on 7.5 ET 32 rims? I have an offset which does not gove me much room on the outside, so I do not think I can go with 225's even if I roll the lips, car is lowered too. But, I would like 215's, seems to be more realistic. Any one have any recomendations on a good 215 or 205 tire? I am probally going to go with the 205 unless I can find a 215 that will work. Thanks, Tim Atl.

As you mentioned in your later post, these are ET11 16x7.5" wheels.I was asked before, and answered, that they are too far out for proper clearance on the rear of an e28. 205/45/16 tires are too small to be safe on your car.215/45/16's MAY be safe,if you use a very good high performance tire.
205/50/16,or better 205/55/16,where there are so many tire choices, would be better.Rolling the rear fenders will give you JUST proper clearance for most 205/55/16 tires, the size I used for years to run down M5's at driver's schools with 16x7.5'Hartge rims at ET13 on my "trick" '85 535i.
