Remove the panel from inside the trunk on that side & you should see a rod which you can pry to manually release the fuel filler flap.

because the power door locking system in my 533 has decided NOT to unlock the gas cap cover. All 4 doors and trunk will lock and unlock, some with a little help because it's real cold in Ontario, Canada today. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as you can appreciate the significance of being able to put gas in your car. Ed

Something was frozen/stuck. I left the car with the gas cap side facing the sun. It was a sunny day (thank god) and the car is black so I think something warmed up. I will try moving the rod (from inside) next time, when I probably won't have 2 hours to wait. Thanks Gale. Ed
