You might also ask Sari for his advice - he had a similar problem, but he described is as hesitation like the car would lose power for a moment. I suggested in might be a loose or bad coil wire or plug lead - it turns out he had a leak in one of his hoses, not sure which one. Hopefully he'll see this and respond.
Good luck.

Folks, My 84 528e just started bucking intermittently on the highway yesterday. I checked the archieves and the fuel pressure regulator and pump issues didn't seem to match my probs and I'm stumped.

Starts great. Idles fine. Has power. Outside temp ~ 40 degrees f, no rain.

Bucking occures at all speeds, cruise or no-cruise and all fuel tank levels.

Just one or two (maybe three) bucks, then runs fine for 5 mins, then another buck or two, then 10 mins more, etc.

I could duplicate the bucking by tapping/punching the accelerator and quickly letting off.

Seems like a split second loss of fuel.

Any takers?

Thanks in advance

Tom
