I have heard brochures giving the wrong CR for the E34 (for example, the 2.5l M50 giving 10.5:1, when in fact it is 10.0:1, and the 2.5l M52 is 10.5:1). I have seen 9.3:1 compression ratio for the E34 535i.

These are manfacturer #s. For 535i there is a displacement difference between the early 3.5L and later 3.5, ie 3428cc vice 3430cc. ?, I could
not find manfacturer #s easily. Any errors, I sure you'll post em.
There is actually no difference in displacement.
There was an even older 3.5 liter engine installed on 6 and 7 series, and the E12 5-series (all labeled 5/6/735), which was 3453cc. This engine had 93.4mm bore, 84mm stroke, and it was L-jet injection, not Motronic.
