Hi Dave,
The juddering would seem to be a classic symptom of driveshaft related problems. Most likely the center bearing, the guibo (flex coupling) or the driveshaft itself. Stock ujoints are not grease-able, so if they are shot you are looking at a rebuilt unless you have access to a great shop who can do a rebuild. A rebuilt shaft will run something like $400.

Other causes of judder could be the rear diff mount, and rear subframe bushings, however the symptoms you describe don't really point that way. A shaft related judder could be exaggerated with worn diff mounts and subframe bushings.

Good luck,
Chris Whitney

when Iset off from a standing start the car judders up to about 20mph then its ok? could it have anything to do with the prop shaft or bearings etc? I 've heard rumours about this before somewhere and just wondered if it could be true?

thanks in advance!
any ideas?
Dave
