Auto Trans Question (archive)

I recently purchased a 1985 535i with a 4spd automatic transmission to use while my '86 535i with 5 speed manual is being repaired after striking a deer. I purchased an additional car (1984 528e) to use as a source of body parts to repair the '86 and have taken all the parts from it that I need. I'm just about to have it towed away, but was wondering if it would be worthwhile removing the transmission and driveshaft from it to save as a spare for the '85. The 528e transmission is also an automatic 4spd, but Bentley identifies it as a 4 HP 22 and identifies the '85 535i transmission as a 4 HP 22 H. What is the difference? Can I use it if neeeded, or is it not capable of transmitting enough torque to use with the 535i engine ?

Also, is the driveshaft for the '84 538e automatic the same as the one for the '85 535i automatic ?

Lastly, I have stripped many parts from the car for myself, but have parts that I will not need. If you need something, please let me know.
