Well first of all, the M50 motor drops in. I am not quite sure if the tranny bolts up, but if you have an M20, I am pretty sure it does(haven't done it). Used driveshafts are not a good idea, especially out of a wrecked car. The m50 driveshaft will not fit his car, but it might fit yours. You would need a custom driveshaft no matter what motor you dropped in. An m50 is the motor out of an E36 325i. It has dual overhead cams, etc. etc. The power is 192bhp which is more than a stock US m30. You also get a better engine management. This about all I know about this conversion. I would suggest asking someone on the E30 message board as a lot of people have done this from what I hear. You can also drop the Euro E36 M3 motor in with no problems. Just think 320bhp!!!!!Rob

what is considered an m50? my friend has a 635 and needs a drive shaft, so we figured we'll get a car and split the price and part it out. Will the m50 driveshaft fit his car also?? What do i need to replace if i put an m50 motor (tranny...)
What is the power output on a m50 motor??
thanx for the quick replies
