The engine is very reliable, but the timing belt MUST be changed every 50,000 miles (less if you're paranoid like me), if it breaks say bye bye to the engine. Also I would suggest you don't purchase it if it has an automatic transmission, as it will probably be at death's door by 220,000 miles. Other than that these cars are pretty much bulletproof.
