I just found a water leak in my '86 535i that I have never seen listed in any archive. Where the front inner fender supports tie into the sheet metal behind the dash on the drivers side (just below the spot where the hood release cable pushes through the firewall) the two pieces meet and form a butt-joint with a few spot welds. There is supposed to be seam sealer over this joint but on my car there was a gap that has let water in for years. It finally rusted through and has been letting water run down the wire harness onto the floor similating a windshield leak. Since I have the interior stripped it was easy to find and I thought I would post this in case anyone else is having problems with a leak.

Can anyone out there share their experiences with sunroof drain tubes? Mine are not plugged but the drivers side tube seems to have come off at the sunroof drain. How can this be reattached? Any tips appreciated!

Matt
