Depends what you want to do. If you want to manually close the sunroof and need to loosen the motor clutch, just pop the popout. If you need to remove the motor, you have to remove the whole panel that runs across the front of the headliner.

Look in your manual - you just have to remove the small popout, not the whole trim panel
