this might sound like a stupid answer, but have you checked or changed your fluid? i also own a 535is, but an 88 with 160,000 miles on it, and one morning i noticed my car seemed to slip then jump into second gear. i don't know if thats exactly what happened, (but that's what it felt like) then i found out one of my hoses had a crack in it and i was totally leaking fluid. i would check my fluid about once a week, it's not like i totally neglected it, so the crack happened sometime within that week.

it's just an idea...

I own a 1987 BMW 535is with 90,000 miles on the odometer.
I recenty noticed that when I put my car in drive and begin to casually accelerate the the tranny lags or sort of stutters when changing gears.

It was doing this only a few times in the begining but now it has gotten to be very annoying. Can this be a simple repair job or will it be something worse?

Rudy.
