I have never driven an E30 in the snow so I may have exaggerated a little by saying that all BMW's can be good in the snow. :) But of the BMW's I have driven in the snow, E28 528e, E32 740iL, E46 328i, E38 740iL, E34 525i, with snow tires they were pretty impressive in the white stuff. As a side note though, the E32 had ASC and the E38 and E46 had DSC so that probably also helped their performance.

PS - Sell the Tercel and use the money to buy some Bridgestone Blizzaks; I think you may be impressed with your 535i's snow handling. ;)
