Hey,

Personally, I think RWD is better than FWD in the snow. When I drive my car('85 535i) and my mom's ('95 Accord), it's obvious that her car makes it up hills better at slow speeds;however, I definitely believe that RWD handles better. Like you said, I'd rather fishtail than fly into a snow bank....which is what I did in my mom's car(only doing 10 mph or so though). Though, I'd take my dad's 4WD Blazer over my Bimmer during any slippery conditions.
