I have Bilstein HD's and Eibach Pro springs, all a little over 1 year old. The springs have been making an awful racket lately, so I jacked up the car and noticed that the undersides of the top three coils are missing the paint (obvious sign of contact). What is going on here? Are these springs losing their firmness already? I did notice that the bump stops are pretty deteriorated, but should these springs be depending on the bump stop to keep from banging coils? I live in Georgia where the roads are very good----no potholes or the like. I get the banging even on pretty small bumps. It is completely nerve racking. Anybody know what's going on here?BW
It doesn't sound to me that the Eibach's are a problem after 10k miles. You DO sound like you need new shock bump stops.Eibach's work well with all but the "sport" Bilsteins and Koni's,which they make a separate set of springs for.
In the few cases where I have ever had to return springs to Eibach, even after 5 years and 70k miles, adding the price of new springs to my credit card to immediately fix the problem, and sending the old ones back to Eibach,ALWAYS got my clients the refund necessary if the shocks were worn.
As far as I know,I'm the only one to wear out a set of four Eibachs on an e28 in 3 years, after VERY heavy track use; my driving style was a flat four wheel drift through high speed turns constantly for years to do so.They sent back a check,no arguement.
