In Reply to: WTB: special tool 11 2 100 (holds ringgear) posted by Don Foote on March 11, 2001 at 17:32:05:

I'm replacing the front oil seal on my 78 733i 4speed. I need the special tool that holds the flywheel in place by grabbing hold of the teeth on the ringgear. I would like to buy one off the board, but I will resort to the dealer if necessary. Will the dealer have this?
Thanks!
Don Foote

A tool for that purpose is available at: http://www.technictool.com/flywheel%20locks.htm This tool supplier has them for most BMW engines. I have no interest in the company and will probably buy one soon.
