I had gone looking at junkyards, and they were all cracked. I seem to remember them wanting around $250 for a marginal one, which they would insist on taking out themselves. (Would you trust them not to damage it?) I broke down and went to bavauto.com for a new one. It cost (sitting down?) $560. It did NOT come with certain brackets that were riveted to the old dash, so you'll need to drill out the old stuff and rivet it to the new dash...

I'm getting ahead of myself. If you decide to install it yourself, post. Trust me, those of us who've installed a dash can give you some hints that will save you time and aggravation.

Anyone know where to find a used non-cracked dash for my 88 535is...will take a new one too. How much do they run???
