Gas smell on accecleration...any ideas? (archive)

the gas smell has happened on and off over the last month or 2. its usually just during acceleration. ive checked the archives and gotten some ideas (cold start valve hose? or fuel lines or transfer pump lines) let me know if you guys have any other ideas. I also just posted a message about a whirring sound commin from the trunk...possible the transfer pump.
