My Bently manual shows 0.12/0.14 for cold/warm engine (3.5L). Same specs for intake/exhaust. Are your specs for the 528e, or are there two specs out there?

Thanks

Spec valve clearance is 0.010" intake and 0.012" exhaust, engine stone cold. Many will gap all to 0.012" or 0.012" in/0.014" ex to smooth the idle. This may cause more valvetrain noise than one gapped to spec.

Recheck the valve clearance. It takes a few times to get it exactly right. You may find that one or two are a little out of spec. The car does this out of spite.
