You can't really install a chip on a 1983 528e. You could swap a 1985 528e ECU and put a chip in that.

I never really noticed the chip, though I placed a 3.25 lsd on my 1983 528e. It gives it a little pickup, but the RPM's are way high on the freeway.

Has anyone with a 1983 528e installed a chip?
If so, which one?
Did you notice any significant performance increase?
Would you reccomend purchasing a chip?

What other performance mods have you done on the vehicle?
What was the best bang for the buck?

Are there any 'free' performance tips and tricks?

THANKS!!!

MG

Doug,
What is an ECU on a 528e that you can install a chip on?
