I bet you could do a tranny swap in a TD... if they use a reference sensor on the flywheel, use a 528e/325e tranny, if not use a 325i tranny. Then you'd have a 5 speed TD car... or sell me the turbo for my M20 turbo project ;-)

smissions??? In the brief period since I began scanning various media regularly in search of a 524td as a retirement rebuilding / daily driver project, I have noticed only listings for cars with automatics. I'm not entirely opposed to the idea of an automatic, but would like to know what the options were.

Hi well the good news is that BMW offered a manual tranny in this car the bad news only in europe ... The tranny # was a 23 00 1 220 515
This was only offered in the european model... MARC BAVARIAN PARTS
