IM buying up parts to go threw my suspension (new control
arms ect)the question is what are the symptoms of bad
upper strut mounts. i hear a groan when its cold out
and im makeing low speed hard turns.it sounds like
binding rubber. at first i thought it was the dash meets
firewall flexing but then i heard it when my wife was backing out in the drive way. loud from outside the car.
can anyone enlighten me with the good words on these
mounts.does, donts, any thing i need to know?
thanks again BSAndy 84 533i
My wifes e28 groans when turning at low speed.
It is the balljoints of the little connecting rod that hooks up the sway bar to the control arms.
The boots are rotten and the joints are dry.
Put vice grips on the rods and twist them.
If they make a noise, theres your culprit.
Get some lubricant or at least some WD 40 in there.
Problem gave me fits till I found it
