Bad master cylinder? (archive)

As some of you may recall, I was getting squishy pedal a ways back. It started in the rain one day. I thought I had some air in the ABS after replacing the assist cyl. So I bled again. The squish came back. I bled again and again. Now the squishy pedal feels like a bad master cyl. It feels like I am going all the way down into the "second circuit" if you know what I mean. Does this sound like I should replace the master cyl?
The lines, pads, etc are fine.
Thanks!
Scottie
