'84 533i Motronic Computer Adjustments- Help (archive)

Does anyone have any suggestions for optimum setting on Motronic Computer with adjustment switch. It's currently on setting 5 ( 3% Injection increase, 2.78 degree timing retard) but also came across info suggesting 2 ( same injection increase, but no change in timing ). Any thoughts would be appreciated.
