Zack,

Are you saying you use a sprayer with Simple Green and then steam-clean the motor. What about between the grilles and the radiator? Do you clean in there with your solution?

Yes and yes.

After spraying your soap solution wait a few minutes for the soap to work and then scrub the stubborn spots. I use a semi stiff nylon bristle brush with a handle that allows me to reach in fairly tight spaces. Use soap plentifully.

You must NOT leave the soap on until it drys-pressure blast with water before it drys If you need more time during scrubbing just spray more soap to keep everything moist.

Soap and blast the radiator grilles-this will remove any crud in between the fins and quite possibly aid in cooling the engine. Blast staight through the radiator. Get close enough to utilize the pressure but obviously not close enough to possibly bend the cooling fins.

Some pressure washers are more powerful than others; start far away (2 feet) and then move in closer with discretion.

When water blasting you should wear some protective glasses for your eyes. The water, soap, and crud will blast back at ya'.

Also, if you're doing this at a remote site-bring a towel for your face and perhaps a dry change of clothes (at least a shirt.)Make sure that you have a tool to remove the dist. cap and a dry towel to dry the inside of the cap.
