No, they are not different. The 535iS had the same springs as the regular 535i. The only changes are the Bilstein shocks (and in some cases some 535iSs came with a 21mm front sway bar instead of the 19mm one, but this cannot be counted upon as the factory was very inconsistent with this part).M-technic springs were an option - mostly done on euro cars - which are 20mm lower than stock (3/4"). They are also stiffer than the stock springs.

Can anyone tell me if the factory springs on my
'87 535IS are any different from the regular 535I of that year
or vintage ???
Someone said they were M Technic ?? the car does not seem to ride any lower than other 535 cars.....
