M-Tech springs are available from your dealer (yeah right!), and Maximillian Importing Company, for starters. Max's prices are much better than any dealer I've found.

As for BavAuto spring drops, it is actually 30mm (1.25") (see their literature). The M-tech drop is only 20mm (3/4"). Personally I feel that the BavAuto springs are too "undersprung" for the amount they drop the car - which increases the chance of bottoming out the springs (reaching coil bind in other words) than with the M-tech springs. This is one of the reasons I don't recommend the BavAuto springs (even if they are cheaper than the M-tech springs). But some are more willing to outweight a bit of the margin for more compliant, yet really low car.

If you want more information/recommendations to improve handling you can email me privately, but I usually end up recommendating these 3 stages of tune for modifications. The first (and least agressive) is either M-tech springs with Konis or the BMW Bilsteins or Dinan Stage 3/4 springs with Konis. The second stage of tune is H&Rs with Bilstein Sports or Konis. And the third stage is Racing Dynamics with Konis. Add to any stage adjustable sway bars in 25/19 ratio for less roll, but you also get less compliance in independent suspension movement (side-to-side) due to increase roll-bar stiffness. For increase roll bar stiffness, but not as severe as 25/19, 22/16 is also an option - it's not much more than the stock 19/15.5 (or 21/15.5 in some cases) but it gives better balance generally speaking (specifics for each stage or set-up slightly different). Usually 22/16 is more suited for Stage 1 and 2, and 25/19 usually for Stage 2 or 3. There are many options available, and it just depends on your driving style and what you want your car to be able to do.

Here's a suggestion, but maybe not an answer:

The Bavarian Autosport springs have a very similar rate and lower the vehicle identically to the M-Tech setup. I have these on my 535 (along with M-Tech anti-roll bars front and rear) and the car handles beautiffuly. I'll bet the Bav springs are around 30-40% cheaper than M-Tech to boot.

For What It's Worth,

James
