Before you start make sure you clean the road grime from the top of the old transfer pump and fuel sender. Also be sure that your fuel tank is no more than 1/2 full. If your transfer pump has never been changed before make sure you have new hose clamps on hand because the factory clamps are crimped on and you will have to cut them off. While you are at it you may also want to change your fuel tank hoses with genuine BMW hose: fuel supply hose is 12/18mm and fuel return is 8/13mm, 3 feet of each is more than adequate. That's it, good luck!
