Before you start make sure you clean the road grime from the top of the old transfer pump and fuel sender. Also be sure that your fuel tank is no more than 1/2 full. If your transfer pump has never been changed before make sure you have new hose clamps on hand because the factory clamps are crimped on and you will have to cut them off. While you are at it you may also want to change your fuel tank hoses with genuine BMW hose: fuel supply hose is 12/18mm and fuel return is 8/13mm, 3 feet of each is more than adequate. That's it, good luck!

Hello All the this job was EASY the most trouble i had was getting the bracket that holds the main pump and filter down to change the fuel filter, however i dont think i totaly solved my problem. the car does feel stronger but still stumbles a little when cold any ideas? also the new used fuel sender gives the same readings as the old one i cant believe the both are bad and that both if they were bad would give the same bad readings. at full tanl obc reads 49.5L and fuel gauge reads 3/4 tank so where do i start to solve this problem? i do know my si board is shot would this affect gauge and obc even if fuel sender was giveing correct readings? thanks ~JOHN BANNER~
