Have two strange occurrences here. First, from the main fuse box there are two wires that were cut, see photo. Second, towards the firewall, there is a yellow connector and a black connector, which look like they fit into one another. What are they? What will happen when I connect? Does anyone know? I do know that my maintenance lights do not come on whatsoever, so maybe this is it?

red cut wire should be battery (12volts)
