It goes on the tip of the center cover bolt. I recommend putting the new one on next time. If it doesnt seal well, oil can drain back into the crankcase overnight & takes that much longer to fill up & flow the next morning.

Its about 6mm OD, comes with the oil filter. (have not used it in 125k miles, hope its not important!!)
