"Tighten up the handling" is also pretty loose verbage however, yes, the Bilstein HD shocks will make a difference in suspension dampening, mainly, meaning the control of up and down movement of the suspension. If you want the body to roll less through corners, the least expensive, most effective way to accomplish this (assuming your shocks are not shot) is to install larger diameter anti-roll bars.

My 5er is a street driven car, 126k miles, 5 spd., LSD and TRX wheels tires and will more than likely never see the track. I am looking to tighten up the handling without making it as stiff as my E30 M3 with Eibach/Bilstein etc.

Do Bilstein HD's make a noticeable difference in this application with stock springs?
