Guys,
Thought I would share some info that I found while reseaching my ETK for clutch parts. I've been collecting parts for a transmission swap for my 533i, replacing the pathetic early 260 with a Getrag 265. Like a lot of folks on this forum, I like to replace stock with performance oriented parts as often as possible.

Here's what I found, the flywheel used in the 533i up till 1/84 is the same part# (11 221 271 463) as the M5 !!! This flywheel weighs 7.49kg vs 10 kg for 535i flywheel. The M5 flywheel is used in the E23 733, E24 633csi, M6, M5, and 533i till 1/84. So rather than pay someone $150 "Topend Performance" or $250 "Metric Mechanics" to lighten your flywheel. Try to locate a good used flywheel from any of the models I've listed and you'll have a OEM version of a light weight flywheel.

Word of advise, don't let your used parts dealer know that it's the same as the M5 part!!
