Hi Don,

My car does this too but is is very intermittent. I have suspected everything you mentioned (and the O2 sensor) but have now come to suspect that it is one of two things...my ECU (e.g., cold solder joint problem...easy to remedy) or speed and position sensors that are failing. Please let us know what you find out. This truly is an annoying problem...for a while it would only happen on right turns and then only after cruising at highway speeds for lengthy periods of time (2+ hours without stopping). I was so frustrated by it as was my mechanic. His suggestion was NOT to start throwing new parts at the problem and instead to let it get worse until something failed. So far, the problem has been absent for 6 months...I don't know why, however. The ONLY major change I have done is to decrease the backpressure in my exhaust system (I am running a tunable Supertrapp Spark Arrestor on my catback system). Drivability is definetly better since removing 2 of the discs from the Supertrapp.
Best of luck in your search for a cure...

Cheers,
Tim

or bad plug or wire? could it be speed sensor on clutch
drive line??? last time was one injector. came on all of
the sudden this time when restarting it after it was running
fine just an hour before.
drive it 2-300 miles a day. a sales beater that usually
runs great at 28mpg. at 80+++mph.
