can i upgrade to a e34 head without using e34 ECU? (archive)

i want to put an e34 head on my e28 M30 block, but i do not want to change the ECU/harness.
can this be done?
and if it even can be done, is it worth doing the head and intake manifold swap from an e34 without doing the ECU/Harness upgreade?
