I think you may be just kidding with us and bragging on your engine, or you may be paranoid for no reason. Waste of money, until it happens. For a good 2.8 liter engine, probably $300-400, plus shipping. There are plenty of them around, so you should be able to get one on fairly short notice with an aggressive search on the boards and at the boneyard. You shouldn't pay to much for a good 2.8 because there is not a heavy demand.

But the most important thing to consider is that these motors don't usually run fine, not smoke and then just one day blow up on you. IMO, you're blowing your money. The cars are great, but the engines are not that expensive, or rare, used.
