e28 turn signal problem (archive)

My right turn signal is intermittant. Bulbs are OK, as are bulb contacts. Once in a while, it starts blinking really fast, as if a bulb had blown, but both bulbs are blinking. Anyone know how they are grounded to finish the circuit?
