Steering Box Problem? (archive)

In the ongoing saga of trying to solve ride and handling problems ..... about 2 inches of play in the steering at a standstill, and about one inch at speed, and the steering wheel will not return to center by itself (worse after a left turn than a right turn) ... adjusting the box makes it feel better in terms of reducing play, but makes the "not returning" worse ...

Any suggestions?
