If the steering will not return after you have adjusted the steering box, it is too tight and you will have to back off the adjustment until it can return. If there is still play after you have the steering box correctly adjusted you may have to look elsewhere for the problem such as: tie rods, center drop link, idler/steering arm, steering column universal joint/flex disc.
