After having some new strut inserts installed, the brakes feel as though the ABS system is trying to cycle, just as I am about to make a complete stop. This makes it feel like I am about to hit something with the lessened stopping power allowed. Additionally, the ABS light has come on and then I no longer get the problem as I stop. Is there something expensive on my financial horizon?
You need to check the ABS wheel sensors and sensor rings on the corners you had worked on. Either they screwed up a sensor or your rings on the back of the hubs are crudded up. Once the light comes on ABS is gone until the next start. That's why you don't have the symptoms with the light on.
