K&N cone filter (archive)

To those here who have installed a cone filter on their E28, can you recommend a size and/or part number? I've looked in their catalog, and the closest I can find to what I'm looking for is a straight cylinder, 5" diameter x 9" long, with the 3" inlet we would need. I'd like to find a 7" diameter to 5" tapered, or 7" diameter straight, about 7-8 inches long. The space behind the headlight housing isn't very wide on our cars, and I want to stay a couple of inches away from the radiator, so the 9" filter would be somewhat long.

Any info anyone could send along would be appreciated.
