Overheating eta (archive)

I can't get my 528e to run cool. I recently replaced the thermostat and fan clutch, checked all of the temperature switches this weekend, everythings good. I can't figure this out. Since I replaced everything it runs cooler but not as cool as I would like, the needle stays at about 3/4 while driving and higher when stopped. It used to rise into the red but the new thermostat cooled it down a little. What should I try next? My thoughts are to remove and thoroughly flush the radiator and check the temperature sending unit. If that doesn't work I'll find a good pine tree and wrap the car around it.
