Problem one: It's likely that one of your turn signal bulbs is burned out causing the remaining one on that side to flash faster. Turn on the signals and get out of the car and verify if one is burned out, or not flashing due to other problems such as a corroded bulb socket.
Problem two: Argggh, what you have described is the power steering reservoir. Adding brake fluid to it will cause the power steering pump to fail and you will not only lose assisted steering, but your power brakes as well. The brake/clutch (if manual transmission) reservoir sits on top of the brake master cylinder and is white translucent plastic with a black plastic top on most cars. Have someone show you where it is positively, or consult the Bentley manual. I'll try to post a photo on this list tomorrow.

I'm now that person that everyone hates on the road - the one whose turn signal blinks about 100 times faster than it is supposed to. Actually that only applies to the right turn signal; the left one runs at normal or sometimes slower than normal pace.
My second problem is that my BRAKE light indicator in the instrument cluster comes on sparatically. Typically from a cold start it comes on and if I drive for even 5 minutes, shut the car off and restart it, the light goes off. I should clarify - this is the light that indicates BRAKE fluid level. The canister is the round gold canister that has a rounded screen/filter inside - am I right? I've checked it and it appears to be fine.
I'm driving an '88 535is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
