OEM light bulbs have the proper resistance. Most aftermarket (big box store bulbs) have improper resistance. This will cause lights to flash faster if the problem turns out not to be a burned out bulb as mentioned in previous post. Proper resistance in the turn signal/brake/taillight bulbs is also necessary for correct operation of your warning lamps on the dash.
