BBS rear spoiler ?'s (archive)

Greetings All,
Recently I purchased a BBS rear spoiler for my E-28. It is N.O.S., & came with factory parerwork/part no. info indicating that it was made for an E-28. Problem is, there is no way it can fit properly over the rather sharp edge of the trunk! (inside of spoiler is curved slightly,more like a 6 series trunk) Does anybody have any experience/advice? I have found a factory spoiler for this car and want to sell the BBS, but not without representing it properly.
