I agree with everything all have said about the 535is...except the suspension.

My 87 535is US spec did not come with Bilstiens...it came with regular Boge's...not even gas. I know what you are going to say....but my suspension is all original I have all reciepts. I was told by Bavarian AutoSport that BMW didn't sent full "M" Tech suspension over on AUTOMATIC 535is.

They had all the other goodies...but because of how soft most US buyers were...they didn't feel we would appreciate the true "M" feel...boy were they wrong!

Hey everyone,

I'll be buying a new E28 shortly(if I can find one), and I wanted a 535is. I searched the archives for differences, and here are some questions for you all. Thanks in advance.

-Do all 535is's come with front spoilers?
-Do all 535is's come with body-colored mirrors?
-Do all 535is's come with LSDs?
-Do 535is's have ///M on the instrument cluster?
-What is different about the 535is suspension?
-How is the ECU different in the 535is?
