Is this a heater valve problem? (archive)

Hi All,

Well after searching the archives for an answer to my heat problem, I am not sure if this could be a heater valve problem or something else. Most of the heater valve problems involve continous heat at the floorboards, where as my problem is constant heat from the defrost vents on top of the dash. Heat works fine on the floor, and shuts off when I want. With the air on or with it off, there is a steady flow of Hot air from all the defroster vents. Could this be a stuck deflector vent not shutting closed? Where would I look? Thanks in advance.

Steve
