While I have done my share of cursing the old ceramic fuses the glass are worse at least in the 25A ones. I have several times (sometimes I'm a slow learner) had to replace the fuse because the solder holding the fuse link to the body melted, but the fuse link was still good! So in my opinion, it looks like a good idea but it isn't.
