Mine does have the red and green wires connected and leading into the harness. The old fuses looked as if they had carried a load at some point. I'm just concerned I've got 'em backwards.

Need a little help from the braintrust please:

After replacing all fuses in my main fuse box, I went after the two fuses located in the "accessory fuse box" in my '88 528e. This is the small, additional fuse box located just outside the main box, covered by a clear cover and holds two fuses (a blue 25a and a red 16a). I believe this may be unique to the '88 528e model. Although I'm usually careful to note which fuse was removed from which slot, I can't be sure of the correct placement of red/blue fuses in this case, and they're not marked on the cover(I removed them both, like a bonehead!).

Can anyone confirm where the red vs blue fuses go? Maybe take a peek under the hood of yours?

I've searched Bentley's and the archives with no luck. Currently have 16 (red) inboard (towards engine) and 25 (blue) towards fender.

Any help appreciated!
Jim

P.S.: What "accessories" are these two fuses for?

If there are no wires leaving the fuse box from the front of car side, then the fuses are unused. The rear side should have a red and green wire that enters the main harness heading into the main fuse box. You can use the accessory fuses for whatever you want.
